Em certas pessoas, pode desencadear crises alérgicas. Se não for seu caso, afunde a cabeça nele sem preocupação. Mas lembre-se: uma capa antiumidade é bem-vinda para repelir ácaros. 

Espuma 

Divide opiniões de ortopedistas: muito duro para uns, com a densidade ideal para outros. Há modelos de todos os tipos – alguns até se adaptam ao formato da cabeça.

Dá um bom suporte. Porém, o material tende a esquentar. Por esse motivo, normalmente se recomenda o uso de uma capa de algodão.

Feito para quem tem problemas de postura, costuma ser duro demais para o público em geral. E, se não oferece conforto, fica difícil pegar no sono.  

Altura

Ao dormir de lado, o travesseiro deve ser alto o suficiente para manter a espinha alinhada. O erro nesse cálculo resulta em uma posição incorreta durante o sono e, claro, incômodos no dia seguinte. Prefere dormir de barriga para cima? Então melhor usar um encosto mais baixo, que não deixe o pescoço projetado para frente. 

Mudança

Mudar de travesseiro é ótimo porque, com o tempo, eles ficam deformados e cheios de micróbios. Porém, não existe um tempo exato de vida útil para esse amigo noturno. Entretanto, há estratégias para afastar os ácaros da área. Uma evitar ao máximo que o travesseiro fique úmido.
